Yamaha’s Xeno Artist Model Series continue to inspire with the addition of the New York Artist Model C Trumpet with YM bell

Yamaha announced a new option added to the New York Xeno Artist Series that gives players the opportunity on the C trumpet model to choose between a YS bell and the YM bell.

The release of the second generation New York C trumpets lead to several meetings with the Boston Symphony Orchestra trumpet section. During these meetings it was determined that to maximise the legendary acoustic properties of Boston's famed Symphony Hall there was a need for alterations to the bell. This led to the use of the YM bell that features a slightly steeper flare than the YS bell creating a sound that retains all of the power and projection of the YS, but optimised the way the clarity and purity of the trumpet sound was perceived in Symphony Hall. The effect of the YM bell was so dramatic that all 4 trumpet players in the BSO section have adopted this new trumpet design.

Commenting on the new model, Yamaha Music Europe GmbH’s Brass Product Specialist stated: “Having the flexibility to choose between the standard YS model and YM model is a real benefit for players. Yamaha trumpets have been chosen by some of the World’s most highly-regarded musicians and are becoming increasingly present on the concert platform. The decision of the Boston Symphony Orchestra trumpet section to choose Yamaha exemplifies this direction and through working with musicians like these, Yamaha’s range will continue to develop and offer trumpeters an unrivalled line-up from which to select from. ”
