Michael Andreasson
Biography
Having studied the trumpet with Claes Strömblad at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Michael went on to study in Chicago with Professor Vincent Cichowicz.
Renowned and very much in demand, Michael has enjoyed a colourful career for many years. Constantly engaged as a soloist, as an educator he is also highly respected.
In 2004 he released his first solo album ‘Elegi’ following it up with his second CD 10 years later entitled ‘Love of My Life’.
Having worked closely with Bob Malone for a number of years, it was when Bob joined Yamaha that Michael first tried Yamaha trumpets and from that point on, Michael has been playing Yamaha instruments ever since.
Speaking of his decision to play Yamaha trumpets Michael states:
"Yamaha, the best instruments I've ever played. They have the sound, response and intonation I'm looking for."
Michael’s instruments of choice are the Xeno Artist Model Chicago C (YTR-9445CHS02) & Bb (YTR-9335CHS02), the Custom Z ‘Bobby Shew’ Flugel Horn (YFH-8310Z), and the Custom Bb/A Rotary Piccolo Trumpet (YTR-988).
Alongside of his solo career, Michael is also a member of The Cavalry Band of The Royal Swedish Lifeguards.
